ceitfianna: (running towards a happy ending)
I've been having a wonderfully lazy Saturday in my new place after a week of various errands and getting familiar with Boston. Yesterday, I got an email from the library temp agency and there's a possible job for me. If it works out, the schedule would be weird but doable as a reference librarian. Friday night, I went to the Public Market for a wonderful meet up with [personal profile] genarti, Jothra and Sandry. I loved how quickly it all came together and to talk, as much as possible with the live music but it was great. The Public Market happened to be having an open house that night and I'll definitely be going back there.

My apartment's really coming together and in my unpacking I've discovered that I have so many notecards. I realized this is a great way to share my new address and send people mail, if you'd like a card, comment.

There have been a few bumps, I think I need a stool for my new bed which I bought at a thrift store before I moved. Its a beautiful antique bed and I love it, but its very high up. Another issue is that my hall light went out and as always in a new place, there's figuring out changing it. So I'm renting in a place that also has condos so condo association and landlord who both went, not our job. So I need to take care of that, I was going to do it today but somehow I did something and my ankle's been hurting, so today I've been resting. Also I had a true headache dealing with a bank as I had to set something up for rent and its mind boggling how difficult it can be to move money from one place to another.

At the moment, I'm trying to do some writing for the Porn Battle. As often happens, the fic I'm writing so far has no sign of any kind of ship but I'm pretty happy with it.

Later I'm hoping to do some catching up on my book reviews on Goodreads which stopped around the holidays and then with the moving haven't picked up. I like having them done as its a good way to keep up with what I'm reading and be part of the book world.
ceitfianna: (running towards a happy ending)
Thank you [personal profile] just_ann_now and [personal profile] camwyn, your cards have arrived and they're lovely. For anyone who'd like one and if you've moved or not sure I have your proper address, please comment on this post, also if you'd like a fic, let me know. All comments are screened and I hope to get them out this weekend.

Today I started the first day of a four day subbing job doing close to what I love and as always it leaves me thoughtful about what works versus ideas. I'm glad I signed up for this almost week long job, RP and writing will be slower but that happens. I'm also revving up for another round of many job applications, because I want to be in a place full of people who get me and that means finding a job that works and wants me.

Yuletide is going, I feel like its a good pace and I'm happy with what I've written so far. An unexpected pleasure is helping with the weeding at my local library in preparation for their move next year. At the moment, I'm going through the juvenile nonfiction section and some of the books are strange. I enjoy having the time to do that and it gives me a chance to talk more with my mentor there.

For now, I'm glad to be sitting as this subbing job requires lots of standing but I have good shoes.
ceitfianna: (running towards a happy ending)
I'm slowly getting things accomplished as I think about all that happened at Chessiecon and where I want to be next. I'm working on getting myself out of where I am now and to a place where I'm living near friends. There are jobs out there, its a matter of getting in the door and being the right fit.

In the meantime, I've written up a new blog post about the films I saw at the Rehoboth Beach Film Festival and I'm going to do an in depth one for Chessiecon.

I also wanted to remind everyone that I love sending out cards and if you'd like one or your address has changed, let me know here. All comments on there are screened and if you don't want a card but instead want a fic or also want a fic, let me know.

My Yuletide and Treat fic are both going along, the ideas are there its just getting the words to work.
ceitfianna: (Tumnus)
With the holidays coming up, I love being able to send cards and/or write fic for everyone I know. The fic will probably happen after Christmas and Yuletide and if you want an idea of what I've done before, check my fic tag.

Please comment here if you'd like a card and your address and if you want a fic, characters and a prompt. Many of you, I already have addresses but I want to check that I send to the right place. When I look for cards, I search for ones that are general holiday because getting mail is one of my favorite parts of this holiday and sending mail to all my friends.
ceitfianna: (Tumnus)
I wasn't going to do cards at first since I wasn't sure about time but then today while doing some shopping, I found some adorable ones.

Now I'd like to send out cards. I have addresses from past years for many of you, but there are also new people following me. If you'd like a card, please comment with your address, all comments will be screened. I'm going to try and get them out as soon as possible.

Today was the Public Library volunteer event, which means I'm in a holiday mood and picked up a lovely small poinsettia.
ceitfianna: (Books don't forget to fly)
Just seen on [personal profile] misslucyjane's journal and one of my favorite students introduced me as the awesome librarian to his mother. Life is good.

What are you reading now? I'm reading My Life in France by Julia Child, which I keep raving about because I love it. Her nephew helped her to write it and her life story is amazing as well as her journey of figuring out who she is and what she sees as important. I love the joy she took in her life, her bravery in moving to different countries and making each new place home. Its also one of those books that's a great reminder that it takes time to find your way in life.

What did you just finish reading? Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly, it was on sale as an ebook and I read it in one big gulp on Sunday night, which was bad for my sleep schedule but a great book. The heart of the story is about a man who once killed a dragon and a kingdom who calls for him, but how nothing is as you expect. It plays with tropes about magic, love, power and has characters that feel real. Also two characters that wear spectacles in a medieval setting, I loved it. She's one of those authors that I always love reading but sometimes get intimidated by just how much she's written. If you enjoy Discworld and Garth Nix for acknowledgement of tropes, some humor and honesty, read this book.

What will you read next? Yesterday I got a package from amazon full of my next reads. Two romances from Courtney Milan's Turner brother's series as I read the last one first and wanted to own more of her books in print and A Fantasy Medley 2. I bought the third book purely for the Tybalt story in it.

Oh and guys, the sun is out and there's blue sky. I think I might end up having a pretty drive east and when I finish work, there's a message from [personal profile] muji waiting on my phone. We're going to find a way to meet up and there will be chances to connect with millimuns in NYC and I get to see an opera.
ceitfianna: (holiday kittens)
This weekend has been wonderfully quiet for me. I just came back from Ann Arbor, where I was able to finish my last holiday shopping for my family, have a great meal with Rick and get The Hobbit soundtrack, the deluxe version with all the bells and whistles. I'm starting to realize that in one week, I will have finished the first half of my first year as a middle/high school librarian and that for all the things I still have to do, this job is working. Its complicated but all the tricky parts can be worked with and will get better with time. I need to hold onto that when the kids are getting rowdy or I'm not sure anyone's hearing me, I'm making this work.

The big stuff left for the holidays is getting paper and printing out my holiday cards and sending them. That also means finding where I packed the connector cord for my computer to my printer, its not too deep in, but I don't know where it is. If I can get them printed out before I leave then I can send them from my parents place. They won't be sent until after Christmas but that's why they're holiday cards. I'm also hoping to get writing on holiday fics, the ideas are swirling around in my head but I haven't been able to pin them down yet. I'm still open to prompts here as I love writing for everyone. Last week was focusing on my Yuletide, which is written, betaed and posted. I've never been this early before its odd and nice.

As its been floating around, I thought I'd also do the Yuletide meme. This is my fourth year doing Yuletide, I started during my first year of graduate school. I love being a part of it and its inspired me to do other exchanges, as well as learning a lot about how I write.

2009: They are Mine. Sandman with Bast, Daniel and references to Dream. My first year I wasn't sure how best to do offers and did too many Anys, so ended up with a request for I think Aphrodite/Pandora slash that made me boggle. I had recently read a wonderful anthology of short stories based around Sandman called The Sandman: Book of Dreams and my person had a request for a story about Bast. I think I wrote this story a day or two days before the deadline.

2010: By the Fire. Old Kingdom set during Lirael and a missing moment conversation between Yrael and Kibeth. This year I was better about only offering what I thought I could write. This is one of my favorite fics that I've written for Yuletide, because I feel like I captured the characters. Though this was another one that I wrote closer to the deadline, I was getting better about writing long stories but they're not easy for me. One reason I signed up to Yuletide was to get over a mental block I had about word lengths due to not finishing my masters in Wellington.

2011: On the way back. Hexwood centered on Vierran and Mordion. For this story, I ended up doing more writing ahead of time but it was a challenging one as its a tricky canon. In the end I think I posted it the day before the due date if not on it as I was driving home.

Its interesting to look at my offers as I've started using Yuletide as a challenge for myself in offering to write for fandoms that I like but don't normally write. Thanks to Yuletide, I've lost a good bit of my fear for writing in new fandoms and word lengths. I still have moments of eep, what am I doing but its better. This year mine is actually turned in early, its my longest one yet and in a new fandom.
ceitfianna: (tea and a book)
I've been running ever so slightly late for work this week and the last as all the stress of what I have to get done has been catching up with me. Today I took that as a sign and didn't go into work, which was what I needed. I've slept in and been able to knock a couple of things off my to do list. I now have more contacts, have ordered a really lovely pair of glasses though glasses are my back ups but still, these are cute and an investment.

Hello to everyone from the friending meme, I figure I should tell you something about myself now I'm not in as bad a place as I was yesterday.

-In September I started a job as a middle/high school librarian in a small independent school in the Michigan suburbs after spending a year looking for a job and living in Ann Arbor. I got my MSI degree at UoM and stayed there in the hopes of finding something. I write a lot about this job as the school hasn't had a full time librarian for a couple of years so I'm helping to define the position while I work. This is exciting and stressful and takes up a good bit of space here. If you'd like more context on my work, I have a librarian blog and my work tag is cowboy school.

-The other thing that takes up a good part of my time is [community profile] milliways_bar, a panfandom roleplaying game that I've been at since February 2006 or 2007, I'd have to check my dates. Milliways is one of my happiest places on the web and I'll often write about it on here as well as Milliways' specific fic. Over there I roleplay Will Scarlett from Robin Hood legends, Charles Xavier from X-Men: First Class, Sameth from the Abhorsen Chronicles, William Evans from 3:10 to Yuma, Moist von Lipwig from Discworld, Demeter from Greek Mythology, Jane Austen from Becoming Jane, Tumnus from Narnia, mainly book with some movie influences and The Pirate King from The Pirates of Penzance, 1983 Kevin Kline flavor.

-In terms of writing, I love finding ficathons to write for but often will be working on various pieces. The current fandom I'm writing the most for is X-Men: First Class because Charles Xavier creates far too many plot bunnies for me. I also roleplay him in Milliways and his point of view fits me. I've been lately getting into fic exchanges as I love them. This is my fourth year doing Yuletide, my second doing ineedmyfics and my first year doing the Narniaficexchange and I plan on doing more as writing for someone else makes me happy. Whenever I see a prompt meme that I like, it ends up on my journal and I try to fill all of them though sometimes they get lost.

-I grew up outside Philadelphia and consider myself an East Coaster though I've spent the last three years in Ann Arbor and have started a new job in Michigan. I love to travel and have lived abroad in New Zealand.

I think that's all for now. Two quick holiday reminders. If you would like a card and your address has changed or I've never sent you one before comment here and if you would like a gift fic comment here. I can't promise that either of them will get done by Christmas but they will happen.
ceitfianna: (Weasleys family)
Since Wednesday, I've been in hanging out with [personal profile] dodger_sister and her family, who have welcomed me in. Her and her sister's cats have been cute and kind to me and filled up my Twitter feed with pictures, I've had delicious food and been able to sleep in.

This was the break I hadn't realized I needed. I mean I knew I needed it but my body has gone, oh true sleep, yay and I've had long and late mornings. The room I'm staying in is very dark as well, which means I've been sleeping even later than I normally would. Its just would I needed. We haven't done too much, which is also nice. On Thursday, there was a Thanksgiving meal at about 2 pm at their mother's house and then a game of scrabble after. Then we watched episodes of Buffy starting with Pangs as that's one of their traditions.

Friday was set aside for going to see Red Dawn because A loved the original and had to see the remake. It was one of the stupidest movies I've seen in a long time and the shaky cam made me nauseous enough that I had to put my head down at some points. The good parts in it were the opening credits, which spliced together real news to build up the threat of North Korea and Chris Hemsworth being a jaded Marine. Everything else was pretty awful, there were some badass lady fighters but the brother relationship that was meant to be at the heart really didn't work as they didn't look like brothers. The actor they chose looked more like Peter Petrelli's younger brother and Josh Hutcherson who was in it would have made far more sense as Hemsworth's brother. Then we came back, had leftover turkey for dinner and played a movie trivia game. One thing I really enjoy about A and her family is this love of playing games, its a great way to spend time. After our game, I introduced them all to Stardust, which I had brought with me and it was just the right movie, fun, silly and pretty.

Today A and her family are having another family meal, which it doesn't make sense for me to go to. Instead I went to a lovely Chinese restaurant for lunch, wandered through Toys'r'us which is selling a lot more electronics than I remembered. I spent a long time staring at all the fun action figures, but in the end only picked up an adorable Boo in costume plush for a present. I really need to get on my holiday shopping, but I do have ideas.

Also a reminder that I'm sending out cards again this year, if your address has changed, please let me know here. I'm hoping this afternoon to try and get more done on my Yuletide, which I'm happy with my progress but its nowhere near done yet.
ceitfianna: (pumpkin pie)
I just back from a lovely Thanksgiving with my friend A and her family. I've been sleeping in and just feeling tired and grateful.

I'm grateful for everyone in my life who has helped me get through this wonderful and tricky transition. I hope that your days are full of people you love and delicious food.

Now a wonderful meme last seen on [personal profile] ashen_key's journal.

One little compliment can make you feel amazing. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty. Put this in your journal. And once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and this will remind you how great you are.

Don't forget to post this in your own journal so I can compliment you, too!

Also if you want a card, please let me know here. I do have lots of addresses and will send cards if I have your address, but let me know if its changed.

Card Time

Nov. 19th, 2012 12:22 am
ceitfianna: (Yuletide Tumnus)
Since the posts are starting to go up, I thought it was time to put mine up.

Every year I make holiday cards usually with a photograph that I took myself. I love sending these out as I consider everyone reading a friend and it makes me happy to send out some joy during this season.

Now addresses have a way of changing, so please comment if you would like a card and with your address if its recently changed. All comments are screened.
ceitfianna: (tea and a book)
I just finished talking to my parents as they're now safely back from Haiti and adjusting. They spent all of yesterday traveling so they're quite tired. It was wonderful to hear from them and it sounds like they had an amazing experience, it was just odd for all of us to not have any contact for a week. It's been a long time since we had that but that was out of their control and clearly they were able to do what they hoped.

Today has started off quite strangely for me as whatever cold or flu I'm fighting off has made it hard to sleep and my body temperature's just off. Thankfully I have the time to be able to sleep deep into the afternoon after being kept awake with an idea for Milliways that I had to go write about 6 am. I think with more rest, I'll be fine.

In terms of messages and how I feel this has been one of the best Valentine's days I've had in a long time. Galentine's Day made this past week fantastic with new messages every day. My parents mailed me some fun socks and when I talked to them today, I also found a twenty dollar bill in those socks. [personal profile] dynastessa's beautiful card arrived today. And thank you to [personal profile] wanderlustlover, [personal profile] sardonicynic, [profile] bajoransmurf and [personal profile] elfinecstasy for the pretty glass hearts from LJ. I almost forgot the amazing story that [personal profile] in_the_blue wrote for me from a prompt I left for the [community profile] ineedmyfics. It's here and it's called Balance and a Baccano! story.

Thank you all for being in my life and I have ideas for the gift prompts, so the joys will continue on.

Me and LJ

Dec. 22nd, 2011 04:08 pm
ceitfianna: (Jane thoughts consume me)
At this point I don't have a DW mirror but will probably pick one up during this break as I don't see myself leaving LJ. I've been here since I think 2001 or 2002 when [livejournal.com profile] erinmuse gave me an invite code and through it I've found Milliways which is one of my true online homes. I just don't want to miss all of you who are going over to DW. LJ frustrates me, but I don't want to spend time and energy being angry at it during this holiday season. Instead I'm going to create a mirror, find ways to keep doing what I do normally and try not to lose track of anyone.

I was thinking of creating a mirror today but then I came back from shopping and mailing my holiday cards and my parents' connection decided to not work for me. So it took me about an hour to get online due to resets and other things, which has been my online annoyance for the day. My aim is to try and set one up during the holidays and I'll do another post and then go and find out who everyone is.

In book thoughts, I just finished a book that reminded me of how much I love the history of tall ships; The Fighting Temeraire: The Battle of Trafalgar and the Ship that inspired J.M.W. Turner's Most Beloved Painting. If you love the history of ships and the Napoleonic war, go read this book, the author weaves a fantastic story, the illustrations are gorgeous and it's a great book. I finished reading it while sitting in my favorite cafe in Lewes and eating my regular meal there.

My parents are currently off to New York city to watch an opera, so I get to have a quiet night here on my own, which will probably include RP, writing and laziness. Also I'm going to get some pictures onto my computer as a few of them will be used for presents but there will be a post of them later. Life is complicated but overall good.
ceitfianna: (Yuletide Tumnus)
I just finished wrapping all my presents for my family and wanted to give everyone a heads up on what's going to be happening with me. Tomorrow and Tuesday, I'll be driving from Michigan to Delaware with an overnight probably somewhere around the Pennsylvania/Ohio border. Hopefully there will be some kind of internet access wherever I end up staying but there's a good chance there might not be.

I'm going to be around tonight trying to make sure I don't have too much waiting to be done, but if we have threads, they might end up paused until Tuesday night. My holiday cards are printed and addressed, I'm currently writing various notes in them and hope to have them sent out in this coming week. My yuletide is over the half way point and I think tonight if I put my head down and just write, I should have a draft for my beta before I get on the road. Gift fics will be happening throughout the rest of the month, Yuletide comes first but I've got some fun ideas for other ones.

In terms of stuff on the East Coast, I'll be in Delaware until about the first week of January and will have my car so some visits might definitely be in the works. My parents live down in Southern Delaware in the area across from Cape May. I know I've mentioned visits to some of you, so we should be in touch for more planning. My parents' place has numerous sofabeds and is near the water or I can drive and visit as I love having a chance to meet more Milliways' folks.

It's nice to realize my list of what I have to do before I leave is feeling possible.
-make scones for munching on
-pack
-check ipod is fully charged
-finish sealing cards
-draft of yuletide
-print directions
ceitfianna: (OTP Jane and Tom)
I'm currently collecting words for another round of the five words meme as I love it. Also I have many ideas for writing and posting but today when I have the time, don't have the ideas. Things will come together, I just need to give myself some time to put on music and just write. My Yuletide fic is started and I know what's going to happen but again, need to focus on it.

I spent most of today collecting present ideas for when I have the money and I'm looking forward to driving home.

My holiday card is designed and once I get the paper will be sent out so if you'd like a card and haven't left your address and prompt for gift fics, the entry is still open here.

So now to do another meme that's been going around and one I like as I find thinking about couples fascinating.

Leave a ship here that I know, any ship (canon or AU, realized or unrealized, that only lives in RPland), and I will tell you my opinion on:

who is the big spoon/little spoon
what is their favorite non-sexual activity
who uses all the hot water in the morning
what they order from take out
what is the most trivial thing they fight over
who does most of the cleaning
what has a season pass in their DVR
who controls the netflix queue
who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working
who steals the blankets
who leaves their stuff around
who remembers to buy the milk
who remembers anniversaries
ceitfianna: (Dean time rambles on)
My kitchen is stocked, I've slept and feel like I'm regaining my normal schedule after a busy but good break. Since so much happened that I want to talk about it, this is going to be a long and rambling entry.

First off, a reminder, my holiday card post is here.

As there's so much that did happen, I'm going to try and go through chronologically in the hope I don't miss anything.

Days Full of Blessings and Work )

I think that's everything, but I might be missing smaller things along the way. I decided that I'm going to drive down over the Christmas break because I finally have a flexible enough schedule that I can do it. That means I'll hopefully be in Delaware on December 20th. My parents are going to be off in NYC from the 21st to the 22nd, so I have some time then to connect with people. As I'll have my car and also the lovely house, there are options.
ceitfianna: (gaze to tomorrow)
I always forget how busy Thanksgiving is even when I have a longer break. There are just so many things to do and there never seems to be time to just sit.

I'm hoping to have that at the moment as my mom and I managed to navigate the outlets for some great shopping. I have a beautiful pair of new boots, two sweaters, bras and underwear and the second and third books in the Iron Druid series. Also I had a productive meeting this morning and now can pause.

Tomorrow I'll be on the move again as I have a meeting in Philadelphia on Monday morning that I need to figure out how to get there and then I'll be heading back to Michigan on Tuesday.

I want to use this post to let people know about holiday cards. What I do for cards is use a picture I've taken and make it into a card. I love the idea of writing something as a gift as well.

The comments on this post are screened so if you'd like a card leave your address and a prompt if you'd like me to write you a piece of fic.

Even if you think I already have your address, please leave it again. This makes it easier for me to see who to send to.
ceitfianna: (Jane thoughts consume me)
I made it through this week but it feels like every day has been a fight and pushing against something. On Monday, I'm flying to the East Coast and I'll be there until next Tuesday. I'll be online sporadically while I'm away since my family keeps me busy and I'm ready to curl up in a ball and be taken care of. I also realized that even though I saw my entire family at my brother's wedding, I haven't actually been back to the East Coast since the holidays last year and I miss it.

Currently I seem to be fighting off something as my throat hurts so much and I feel worn out. A good part of that probably comes from just how long this week was but I really don't want to lose my voice. That happened to me during last winter break and it sucked. Currently I have peppermint tea with honey and I want to try and find a tea I had with my lunch-chamomile and lavender. It was soothing and delicious and made me happy.

Good things are happening and I want to focus on them. I turned my horrible work experience on Monday night into a blog post on my librarian journal: Patron, friend or acquaintance-The complications of intimacy through instant messages. I feel very happy with it and writing always helps me deal with the world.

I've also signed up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide and I'm looking forward to it this year as I have more time and feel more confident in my writing. Doing [livejournal.com profile] ineedmyfics helped me see how I can write many fandoms when I set my mind to it. Also I'm incredibly tickled by how my Daily Entertainment interested two people who've never done Yuletide before into signing up for their first year.

I'm hoping over the break to get at least a draft if not finish my Charles X dreamfic before Yuletide gets too involved. The main structure is there, I just need to figure out how much more it needs.

My to do list isn't too horrible at the moment. I'd like to try and get up to date on LibraryThing but that won't take too long. When I finished work on Friday, I went into Dawn Treader and had a great time buying books to take with me. I found a Dorothy Sayers and Ngaio Marsh I don't own, The Talented Mr. Ripley, which I've been meaning to read and Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody as I enjoyed the last one of hers I read. Currently I'm reading a Ngaio Marsh set in New Zealand and missing it.

Probably tomorrow if not later this week my card post will go out. For those of you new to my flist, the past two or three years I make a holiday card out of a photograph of mine and send them off. I'll be putting up a post with screened comments for leaving your address if you want one.

I'm also still open to questions on this post. I'll probably answer them in a separate post as the comments of that one have gotten long.

Thank you all for the incredible support this week.
ceitfianna: (journey's end)
My main goal when driving today was to pick up the birthday package that my parents sent me which had been left at the main post office. Usually the postal workers just rest parcels outside but apparently we have a new person so off to the office I went. Now I had never been to this post office before as there's one I can walk to so that meant I got lost in Ann Arbor. Not terribly lost just turned around as it was tricky to see where to turn and the post office wasn't well labeled. I finally found it and now have a package to open next Wednesday on my birthday.

After that I went looking for lunch and pulled into this shopping area parking lot and the Zingerman's Roadhouse where a farmer's market was going on. Today was actually the first day and this was a brand new market, which meant wonderful treats. My lunch was a chili hot dog from Zingerman's, I bought some fresh spearmint to make homemade mint tea with and some local chicken wings to eat soon.

I had an amazing ten minute chair massage that felt much longer and I think I might go back to these people for a proper massage around my birthday, the prices are good and they're within walking distance. The woman who massaged me asked great questions and listened to me, she really picked up on how tense I've been. My favorite part of farmer's markets is the conversations and I kept getting into them at this one. I will definitely be back.

Now I just uploaded so many pictures as I have this habit of not emptying my camera until its got around a hundred pictures in it. I don't know why, I think its a leftover from when I had a film camera and wanting to make it worthwhile when I put things online. What that means is that I have lots of pictures of flowers, animals, buildings and my new haircut to share. In this post, I'm going to just do a few of my favorites and then try and put the others into slightly organized posts.

My summer haircut, I like it but think it will look even better when it grows out a bit. The lighting's odd since I'm in my hallway but this is the best picture for seeing the full effect.

Spring and Winter and I take too many pictures. )

I think that's enough pictures for now. More will come later.
ceitfianna: (candy raspberries)
Next Wednesday on June 8th, I turn thirty and I have no idea how I want to celebrate.

Last year I had two of my friends from Ann Arbor over and we had food and played D&D. I know I want to do something even if its not terribly big and I'd love thoughts.

My parents are visiting later in the month and I know that will involve celebrations, they also sent me a package that I need to get from the post office. Apparently I heard the post man at the buzzer but they didn't talk into it so I was confused and missed it.

Also there will be the new X-Men movie at some point since I've had good luck with movies of his that come out near my birthday. Becoming Jane came out in New Zealand the week of my birthday and I saw it twice since it made me happy.

Please tell me some of your favorite birthday plots and plans?

In something not birthday related, I got my haircut and it looks great. Its at my chin and so much lighter though the hairdresser almost forgot to cut my bangs until I reminded her. I'm still feeling tired but I think that's really the heat and how there wasn't any in between here. We just went from rainy to full on summer.
