One Door Closes...
Mar. 21st, 2005 01:34 pmAs of yesterday, I will be moving out of my flat at the end of the week. My landlord, who is a small little man that worries about money and having control has decided that because I had Rowan over for a night here or there, I have broken my agreement with him. He told this to me by yelling it out a car window as Rowan and I were walking to work yesterday morning. I had to call him on my lunch break to confirm the situation. What's odd to me is that I'm not terribly worried since he's a nosy landlord and that made me uncomfortable in the house since I knew he might be snooping around to see if any of his tenants were taking advantage of him. He's also a bully who threatened to call the police on Rowan and call him an intruder, which doesn't make any sense since I invited him in and other people in the flat have visitors over too. He also doesn't even know anything about Rowan except what he looks like. So one door has closed and at the end of this week, god willing, I will be living in my own new place, but for the moment, I'm at Rowan's. This situation has shown that I'm a lot stronger that I thought, I really don't mind moving out of that flat since Barry, my landlord was starting to really get on my nerves by hovering everywhere, and I may find someplace better and closer to Rowan. There's a housing glut in Dunedin so it shouldn't be too hard to find someplace.
I've also learned that I have a lot of allies in New Zealand, because Rowan called his mother and talked to friends of his and everyone says that I'm in the right and he really doesn't have any right to treat me this way. And who knows what I may find after this, I know its autumn here, but its feeling like Spring since new possibilities open up all around.
