I realized I haven't updated in a little bit, happily that's because I've been spending time with Rowan and just being which is a lovely thing. We've been cooking and talking and also I've been planning for when Erin's going to visit, which is a week tommorow. Jumps up and down for a while. Also my new job while good is tiring. I'm working in the marking department of a department store called Arthur Barnett, so its varied work since some orders are easy and others are huge and complex. The people I'm working with are nice and I don't have to dress up which is an added bonus. What's weird about the job is that its from Wednesday to Sunday, so my sleep schedule is even more messed up since my weekend in Monday and Tuesday. But I'm mananging, now the trick is not to get whatever Rowan has since he's been sick and so I've been worrying about him and trying not to get it myself. A perfect combination for just feeling tired, oh well, tis Friday and Erin will be here in a week.
Other news, last Saturday I participated in the Cancer Society's Relay for Life, www.relayforlife.org.nz is the website. And I showed up after work and found this incredible tent city set up on a rugby field, 125 teams dedicated to having someone on the track for 24 hours. I helped organize it a little when I was at the Cancer Society and it was wonderful, just lots of people all there for one reason, to help people. It had the feeling of a family barbeque, a fourth of july party, and a quaker meeting. I even got to carry the baton for the Cancer Society for a little bit and Rowan was there, which was lovely too. We both felt welcomed and happy. Though it was a little weird interacting with some people in the Cancer Society since I don't think they all expected me to still want to be quite that much a part of them after only being a temp. Yet for me, it was a place where I felt welcomed and I knew that I was helping people. Okay, that was very rambly, but I need more sleep and I'll post pictures of the Relay for Life at some point too. Now to have a restful day, find out what the doctor told Rowan and sleep.
