I had forgotten just how much I hate word problems until I started studying for the GRE. I can feel myself glazing over and going I don't know how to do this.

I know I do and Kaplan has lots of good strategies and this will work but oh god the math and the tricks, make it stop.

Ugh. This is exactly why I avoided taking the GRE.

...and now, I'm cramming for a -different- insane test. Irony.

Have you tried logic problems (http://www.puzzles.com/projects/LogicProblemsArchive.html)? I've been doing them lately to work on my concentration and focus and I'm finding they really help. You can get them in book form like crosswords and word searches, too. I find those are better because they get more difficult the further in you go, so you know starting at the beginning is where the "easier" problems are.

Oh, it's math. I missed that part. Still, a lot of them have numerical components to them and they will still help get your brain into "logical thinking" mode. And they're fun! Or I think they are, anyway.
