Life is looking good, one of my mother's friends from college is coming over for lunch, I somehow got up at 10:30 am after going to sleep sometime after 4 am because
wordsthatfail and
dynastessa are just that awesome.
Then woke up to find out that my new laptop has shipped and might even be here tomorrow which makes me so amazingly happy, I thought I might have to wait until the end of the week for it.

Comment to this post and I will give you five subjects/things I associate with you. Then post this to your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
New Zealand
When I first got to know a lot of people on my flist I was living in New Zealand for the second of three years working on a master's degree. Its one of my favorite places in the world because the people are wonderful, the landscapes beautiful and it was the first place where I was able to support myself and live on my own. I'm trying to get myself back to that so that someday I can afford to go there one vacation. Lately I have a wonderful original character: Tiwa
pi_wakawaka who lets me indulge my love of Changeling the Dreaming and New Zealand in a way that just makes me so happy.
America
I consider myself American and I'm proud of my country even though there are some moments like the past eight years when I've grown to really hate the government. Its interesting, but one of the things I grew to appreciate during my years in New Zealand was how even though I felt very unhappy about my government, it was still okay to be proud to be American. This came about because New Zealand is so far away from New Zealand that few people there know too much about what things are really like since most people take OEs in Europe or Canada and just don't have as clear a sense. Then it got nice to be able to teach and talk about the things I love about my home.
Greek Classics
I was a Classics major in college and then pursued a masters in Classics pretty much because I love the literature and how complicated and wonderful it is along with how it creates foundations for so many other eras of literature. I know Ancient Greek and Latin though they're both fairly rusty but I'm glad I know them because there's something really wonderful about being able to really get deep into a language. I spent the Spring Semester of my junior year in Athens and just loved it, Greece is another one of those places I would go back to in a heartbeat.
Libraries
I've recently figured out that I want to be a librarian and I'm really pursuing it as much as I can because even though I didn't think I'd consider going back to graduate school, having and being in the process of getting an MLS opens up a lot more doors jobwise.
Robin Hood Stories
I've loved Robin Hood since I was quite a young girl and I think I love it because there's just so much in the tales You have this group of men who have all these diverse interactions plus adventure plus a love story plus a setting that has a tinge of magic to it. There are some variations on the story that I don't like but I love talking and thinking about why I don't like whatever choice this author or this screenwriter made. Also I love looking at what are the changes in the story that have happened over time, how does one place interpret it as opposed to another.
