Small Grumble
Aug. 16th, 2008 04:02 pmIf I didn't know better, I'd think someone didn't want me to finish The Dalemark Quartet. It turns out that I'd remembered wrong and none of the libraries in all of Delaware have the last book. So I'm going to read the first three and see what to do from there.
Though the Lewes library does have the first three Percy Jackson books. Amazon has the fourth but either in buying it with the third or such.
Honestly if I had the money, I'd buy the whole series since I really like it and keep finding characters that I enjoy a lot just need a job first. Maybe I'll get it when I get a birthday present for my father, we'll see.
Also Milliways has inspired me to want to research something, the Joker's entrance affected Will a lot and I went to look for books on Fools and Jesters and found one that looks really interesting. At one time I considered doing medieval studies, mainly due to Will and Cadfael and the idea of Fools has always fascinated me.
I keep thinking about one of my favorite Ngaio Marsh mysteries called Death of a Fool about a murder that happens during a Mummer's/Morris Dance. I need to find it and reread it because I'm taking some inspiration from Ngaio Marsh's research plus my own scant knowledge for what the Joker would mean to Will which is different than to a modern person. Right, now to stop spamming friend's list with long thoughts on books just need access to a better library, used bookstore or just money.

Date: 2008-08-16 10:58 pm (UTC)I adore Moril - I love his vagueness and the slightly different way he looks at things. I might love Mitt even more, but it's hard to say (and I might be biased by hours spent babbling about him with our Milliways Mitt-player).
