An article on trolls

I found this an interesting article on internet trolls.

I haven't experienced this a lot since I'm not quite as online as some others on my flist. So I'm curious of everyone's reaction, because I found it rather disturbing in terms of the people involved.

It makes me kind of pity them that they feel that this is what they have to do to feel they're making a difference in the world. I don't want to restrict their free speech, but be good if they could be more aware of the consequences of their actions which they don't seem as aware of or care about.

... oh good lord. The idea that anyone could be that sociopathic to total strangers just 'for the lulz' is saddening.
