I just found this article about Anne of Green Gables which is one of my favorite books and I was in the musical of it in High School.

This article captures so much why I love Anne because I was a girl like her, more in my imagination than anywhere else.

I've changed a bit how much I daydream and create, but this article just captures why Anne is one of my favorite characters.

My paternal grandmother (who was notorious for giving me presents that were totally random and weird, because she didn't know me at all) gave me VHS copies of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea one year, and they turned out to be a favorite with my stepsister and I. We watched them OBSESSIVELY, knew every line by heart. I haven't seen those tapes in years (no clue where they are, actually) but I'd love to get them on DVD sometime.

I have to say, though, I saw the musical version in Prince Edward Island a few years ago, while visiting my stepcousins there. And I absolutely loathed it. I am not exaggerating in the least when I say that the mere sight of the Anne (there was this god-awful poster they had of her with ice cream on her nose) made me want to drive a stake through someone's skull. Of course my stepsister bought the soundtrack, and I was forced to listen to it repeatedly on the long trip home from Canada.

I do love Anne as a character though. Just not that particular musical's version. :/

The musical is kind of strange, but I was happy because I got to play a character.

I was the woman who arranged the adoption, but the book and movie are my favorite.

Also ooh I like your icon a lot and I know that I got really sick of some of the songs during the summer.
