As a number of people know, my brother Aaron gave me a 100 dollar gift for itunes. So far I've downloaded Mirabilis by the Medieaval Baebes, which I really, really like, but I still have more space.

Now I know my friend's list has wonderfully varied taste in music, and I honestly will listen to anything and love finding new artists to try. So please tell me who you recommend and enjoy listening to.

Just a bit of something nice to think about on this day as the New Year comes closer.

Here be crack! You guys rock so much!!

Hmm. Apparently US iTunes has no Dykeenies, which is sad; there is one Pigeon Detectives song, though! So you should get that.

The Mountain Goats, if you like chilled out indie. The Sunset Tree is a good album (well, they're all pretty good), but awesome tracks in particular (not all on TST): Dance Music, This Year, No Children, Commandante, Dilaudid, Colour In Your Cheeks ... yeah, I kind love John Darnielle.

And obviously I'm going to recommend Muse. :D

Yeay, Medieaval Baebes! I have all their albums, and I've gotten to see them live at the MD Renaissance Festival.

I'm not sure... Voltaire has a new album out, if it's on there. I like the songs "Hell in a Handbasket" and "Land of the Dead"... they're really awesome.

Maybe some Regina Spektor? Or Muse's album "Black Holes and Revelations"?

Try and see if your version of iTunes has Corvus Corax; they're a bit harder, but still very much medieval. I saw them live a week before Christmas.-

Also, Jethro Tull? Blackmore's Night?

Depends on which they are. Try getting 'Seikilos', on which they sing in old Greek (not ancient, AFAIK, just koine) or 'Cantus Buranus' which is pieces of the usual suspect, i.e. the original Carmina Burana.-
