Nearing the End

Tis weird, I just arranged my plane ticket home, I'll be flying back on November 14 and home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but before that I have many papers to write and three exams. Though I find myself not stressing too much since I've found such a good place here, I look forward to Fridays and hanging out with the gaming club and playing Claremont. Now I've also got Tuesdays, where I'm playing a new system and writing a story for a game, which I haven't done in ages. And I'm living in a place I love, perched above the centre of town with a good friend next door, Phil, who's introduced me to tons of comics and other stuff and has let me read Milton to him. I have Sunny to take me out on Saturdays and show me the other side of Wellington with pubs and such. I still bumb into Rowan, which is always nice and we catch on what's happening. I've found a place I feel at home and comfortable, but I also miss everyone in the States.

Home is a comibination of the people you enjoy spending time with and places that you feel safe in. And Wellington has become another home for me, I can find my way around and I don't mind getting lost every once in a while. I've learned to read the weather a little better, but this being Wellington that's never easy. I still haven't adjusted to the fact that its September and the weather is warming up, but not fully. Today feels like a Pennsylvania fall day with fog on the hills, a chill in the air and a wind that sweeps through you. I guess I'm rambling a bit, but arranging the flight home made me think about how good this year has been. Yes, there have been some strange and unhappy moments, but I've come through them. And I'm hoping that I may come back next year. I need to write my thesis and send it to my advisor and ask on bended knee if I may apply for a masters here and come back once more. Maybe if I come back, I'll run a game though honestly I'd love to run a larp since there aren't enough excuses to get dressed up and just be a bit silly here. I miss pooka days and I think I shall have one before I leave. Also Sunny and I are thinking about having some kind of celebratory get together before the end of the year, no plans or ideas just relaxing. I think I'll end there for now, but life is good and full.

And the Eagles beat the 49ers and are on their way to doing well this season.

I don't think we've met, but we have friends in common in Wellington, but what caught my eye was you mentioning Pennsylvania when I'm here (Lewisburg, a friend's wedding).

I'm from a small town called Swarthmore that's just outside of Philadelphia and I'm not sure I know where Lewisburg is, but if you're interested in any ideas of places to see and such. I'd be glad to help. I'm not sure who are the mutual friends but I'm at gaming club and Paul, Mash and Fraser all have my email.

Lewisburg's NE of there on highway 15. (About 3 hours' drive according to Google.com/Maps). We've got little kids (coming up 3 and 5), any suggestions of things they'd like?

Suggestion wise for Eastern and Central Pennsylvania is pretty easy, Lancaster county with the Amish, lots of farms and good food so quite fun for young kids. Also Hershey, PA is always good fun. If you have time to go to Philly, do since there are some good museums that kids will enjoy also its a nice city to walk around in with lots of historical architechture. Otherwise, central Pa is just lovely, with parks and battlefields and all.

Thank you. The kids are in Hershey today (I have a day off!). Philly is too far I'm afraid, we're spending enough time travelling with them stuck in the car or plane without adding to it.
