What I'm reading

I put this up thinking it was Wednesday when its actually Tuesday, the last two weeks have been odd for my sense of time. I've fallen behind on writing up my books but now that my fact-checking is done, I have some time and have been reading a lot of interesting books.
What I finished reading.
Shadows of Sherwood, a fantastic retelling of the Robin Hood story with a biracial girl Robin Hood set in a near future dystopia. I highly recommend it if you enjoy adventure. I realize that I actually finished this before I started the fact-checking but I want to signal boost this book.
Recently I've been doing some rereads and finished Murder on the Orient Express, which is one of Christie's best. I love how she uses setting and plays with how characters are expected to act depending on their nationality and class status. Its one of my favorites.
What I'm currently reading
The Doll Collection, an anthology of horror stories about dolls. I picked this book up because it has a story by Seanan McGuire in it and have been really enjoying it even though horror isn't normally a favorite genre of mine.
I'm also reading a draft of a book by a friend, which is great.
What I'm reading next.
Aunty Lee's Deadly Specials by Ovidia Yu. This is a great mystery series set in Singapore and featuring Aunty Lee who runs a cafe and knows everyone's business. I read the first book of the series and loved it and I'm looking forward to the second. Especially since the book I last fact-checked was about South-East Asia and it made me want to read a book written by someone who knows it intimately.
This weekend I finally saw Mad Max Fury Road and enjoyed the world building, the characters and the spectacle.
