Wellington, New Zealand in February

ceitfiannaTonight I received an email saying that I was accepted to Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand's bachelor honours program, the first step to a doctorate in classics in who knows what. My plan is go there in February when their Fall term starts and study what I love, which is storytelling and writing and the transitions between as seen in the ancient world. The movement from Homer and Sappho to Virgil. In a city that I find beautiful with a and who lifts my heart up and fills it with joy and a country full of kind people and lots of lovely birds. I've been afraid to be too sure even though I knew the department wanted me, but now I can celebrate. I also feel as if the holidays have started. Elvis is singing on the radio, my parents and I have sucessfully set up a fake tree for the first time and it looks good and Rowan will be here with the New Year. Life is full of hope and possibility.
I feel like now all my hopes and dreams are built on reality and truth. In the New Year, I will return to New Zealand and live with Rowan and find my place again in the world of academia and be a storyteller and writer. I will read Homer, Aristophanes and think deeply and laugh well and walk the hills of Wellington as the wind buffets me and yell my voice out in the caketin, who knows I might even watch the All Blacks live. I just want to laugh and smile and its the time of year to find the right present for the ones I love and care about even though they be far away. I hope all of you out there have a reason to be joyful and if I haven't heard from you in while. Email or comment since I'll be off to New Zealand in February and you're all good friends and my Kiwi guy will be here in January and I want you to know him. So contact me since I miss you and hope that your holidays are joyful too.
