Yuletide Letter
Oct. 14th, 2012 08:28 pmDear Wonderful Yuletide Writer,
First off, thank you for writing for me. I'm fairly easy to please as my greatest loves are missing moments, character interactions and seeing quiet characters have more time to breathe. I enjoy romance when it fits in the story and love especially those small moments that show you how a couple lives their life together. If humor fits, I'd love to see it. One of my favorite authors is Diana Wynne Jones for her gift of knowing how to capture the silliness and joy of life. In terms of darker themes, be conscious of the tone of the original canon and I'll be happy. I tend to write what I enjoy reading and you can find my works here.
Magid Series-Nick Mallory, Roddy Hyde, Romanov
Nick is a character that I find incredibly interesting as his path isn't clear in a series where most of the characters just know where they fit. Also I love how rocky his relationship with Roddy, Romanov and the various Magids are, he reads to me as such an adolescent. I would love to see more of what happened after The Merlin Conspiracy or between Deep Secret and Merlin Conspiracy for him or even a future fic when he's figured himself out. How does Romanov teach him? He has a lot of growing up to do and judging by the first books, it's going to be a rocky and fascinating voyage. A glimpse would make me happy.
Canon: Two books that most libraries have. Deep Secret, The Merlin Conspiracy
The Seven Realms Series-Han Alister, Princess Raisa ana'Marianna
By the time you get this letter, the newest book will be out providing more of what happens next. You don't need to include anything from The Crimson Crown, because what I would love is to see some of the missing interactions between Han and Raisa either in the palace near the end of Grey Wolf Throne or mixed in with all that time they had together in Exiled Queen. I love these two because Chima has written them as this complicated, heart breaking and hot young couple. More of them would be wonderful from small to grand adventures.
Canon: Three books with a fourth coming out, YA novels. The Demon King, The Exiled Queen, The Grey Wolf Throne, coming out on October 23-The Crimson Crown
Tommy and Tuppence-Tommy, Tuppence, Albert, Carter
I've always loved Agatha Christie and recently discovered these books and fell in love with Tommy and Tuppence. Their relationship is wonderfully equal and fun, so I would love to read more of their adventures. The people they gather around them are fascinating, Albert who adds drama to life and Carter, who seems related to James Bond's M. Please fill in some time for me with them as their books jump around the decades a good deal.
Canon: Four books-fairly easy to find, The Secret Adversary-free on most ebook sites, Partners in Crime, N or M?, Postern of Fate
The Talisman Ring-Sir Tristram Shield, Miss Sarah Thane, Ludovic Laverham, Eustacie de Vauban
This is a new fandom for me and Tristram and Sarah's romance is one of my favorites that I've read in a while. I love how sensible they are while still searching for ways to be happy as Ludovic and Eustacie are on the edge of parodying silly romantic couples. I want more adventures and moments with a focus on Tristram and Sarah and seeing the next steps in their romances or what happens after their marriage.
Canon: One book and a fast read-The Talisman Ring
Thank you again for writing for me.
