A fun meme from [livejournal.com profile] in_the_blue and before I sleep tonight, I'm going to post at least one fic.

She gave me H:
1-Harry Potter-first one that comes to mind
2-Captain Hook-I can see my video of Hook from here.
3-Hermione Granger-Another easy one.
4-Helen-Greek Mythology
5-Hank McCoy-X-Men, because I keep writing about X-Men and I need to work him into more of my fics as I wonder the conversations he and Xavier had.
I'm also adding a sixth through the icon I'm using.

1. Comment on this post.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and either reply here with their names and your comments on the characters or post them to your own journal.

Calcifer (Howl's Moving Castle). There are a lot of great characters whose names start with C, and he's just another trickster, the virtual Coyote of the Howl books. I love his deviousness and his sense of what's fair and what isn't, and the way he complains and the way he takes Sophie under his wing. He's a shooting star with a (borrowed) heart of gold, but has a huge big heart of his own.

Charlie Weasley (Harry Potter). First, dragons. Second, that grin and those freckles and being the best Seeker Gryffindor had in years. Third, he's protective. I'm sorry he pretty much gets the shaft in the books -- he deserves more -- but what's there is pretty great. I wish he hadn't been forgotten the way he had.

Cooper Lee (One Tree Hill). Okay. Hot Uncle Cooper. Need I say more? A walking bundle of attitude in leather? Check. A race car driver? Check. Someone in that town who's marginally adult and has scruples, even though he doesn't stick to them very well? Check. A near-tragic ending? Check. His run on the show was pretty short-lived, but impactful.

Caprica (Battlestar Galactica). Don't you have to love a good old-fashioned Cylon? From the very beginning of the miniseries when she administers the kiss of death until the very last episode of the show when she... well, you'll see when you finish it, she's kind of an amazing character. Her story arc is really complicated and while there's plenty I don't like about it, there's plenty that I do like about it.

And last but not least, Charlotte (Lost in Translation). Oh, I love her for her indecision and her status as someone who's seeking truth and love and nurturing and answers, and I don't know that she ever finds them but her discovery process is so beautiful to watch. She's so young, so stuck in place, so needy, but I always feel like she's just about to blossom.

But wait wait wait there's more, one more character, okay? Claire Stanfield (Baccano!) is so lovingly disturbing that I have to give him an honorable mention. We see such distinct and different sides of him, it's almost impossible to reconcile the both of them. He's fascinating and talkative and capital-C crazy. All his solipsism aside, he's really fun to watch.

It really is a fantastic show.

And you know me, I love talking characterization. I could do it all night.

Hee, Ali made it for me and it makes me grin every time.

W. Ooo, hard one. Um...

The Wizard: as in 'of Oz'. I've never read the books, but watching the movie is a fond memory of mine. I remember when it used to come on like once a year, and me and my family would sit and watch it on the television.

Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin: He is such a great bad guy. I love Daredevil, and all his confrontations with this guy were epic.

Wade Wilson aka Deadpool: My experience with this guy is mostly limited to chance encounters he's had with other characters, but I did randomly pick up a Deadpool and Cable tradeback once and nearly died laughing. I really need to get my mitts on more, because he's a fun character.

William Wallace: Ahaha, lots of alliteration going on with these names. Braveheart, whatever Mel has done in RL, this movie was epic. I can probably only remember a quarter of it, but I do remember liking it when I first saw it.

Winston Zeddemore: My third favorite Ghostbuster (behind Ray and Egon). "Tell him about the Twinkie." BWAH!

...That's actually harden than I thought.

1-Aang (Avatar, The Last Airbender): I love his youthful exuberance and the personal journey he had to take from self-focused childhood to selfless adulthood. Best part is he never lost himself in the journey nor his sense of fun.

2-Artemus Gordon (Wild, Wild West): James West have gotten all the attention but Artemus was the real player in the series. I loved how he turned his background in theater to making disguises and hidden weapons.

3-Athena (Greek Mythology): She has always been one of my favorite gods and the matron of my favorite hero Odysseus. Wisdom, martial prowess and independence at a time when none of these things were thought of as womanly.

4-Artemis (Greek Mythology): Like Athena I love her independence. I love the idea of the wild hunter.

5-Atticus O'Sullivan (Iron Druid series): I love that he thinks both as someone from the Iron Age and someone from the modern age. I love that he still gets tongue-tied by a beautiful face and is wise in the use of his power. I love that he doesn't label himself as bad ass and I love his paranoia.

Alright, I'm kinda curious to play this - give me a letter.

Also, there should always be more Hank. You would be amazing at writing his unique voice. You should do that. :)
