As I've mentioned before, I recently moved a lot of pictures from my camera to my computer. Since today is being a rather quiet day, I thought I'd share some of them.

The Borders on Liberty, store number 1 is empty and closed and I have some pictures of its final weeks to share. Then I'm going to share the pictures I grabbed of the Golden Gate bridge while traveling with my parents to Sonoma Valley.

Though I grew up flying into San Francisco as my mother's originally from Carmel, I don't think I've ever crossed the Golden Gate before. On this trip, I crossed it twice and got some decent pictures considering I was in the back seat of a car. I think the next round of posting will be some beautiful nature from Ann Arbor and California. I take so many pictures of flowers simply because I can.

Someone taped this to the entry and its such an important thing to remember for all of us and beauty is far more than just how you look.

This was chalked on the other side of the entryway. Ann Arbor has good people.

This is where I used to do most of my shopping in Borders as those shelves held Science Fiction and Fantasy and recently Young Adult. I'm going to miss wandering in there and being tempted by new authors and old friends.

The image is a little strange but I like this one as there's something amazing about going over the Golden Gate bridge on a foggy day. Its easy to see why its the Kingdom of Mists in the Toby Daye books.

This one is a little more scenic and captures the scale of the bridge.

While this one has both the arches. I need to go back to San Francisco and the West Coast.

I was going to say, when isn't it a foggy day crossing the Golden Gate Bridge? One of my favorite things about it is the sheer number of people always walking it. I'll do that if I have a chance, one of these visits.

GATEWAY TO THE PACIFIC. They're not lying.

Frak. Now I want to move to San Francisco.

(I always want to move to San Francisco.)

I want a bazillion dollars and a place on Telegraph Hill, while we're wishing. Then I can watch the sun set over Alcatraz Island and give a bunch of money away on general principle.

If you do spend more time on the west coast and want to head further north, my door's always open. When it doesn't stick due to the rain, that is! (We're pretty up here.)

I've been seeing those "You are beautiful" signs pop up around Philly lately, as well. My favourite was the one someone put inside the drop door for the mailbox on my corner. I think it's good that people are spreading some positive messages.

Thanks for posting the Borders pics. I'm back in Ann Arbor but I didn't see those, and I was glad to see them.

I know, I'm still reeling from the shock! I was just there buying books and thinking it would always be there....

The "you will be missed" scrawled on the Borders made me both sad and happy.

I still can't believe my town no longer has a bookstore.

:/ . One of the sadder sights in this world is an empty bookstore.
