Next Wednesday on June 8th, I turn thirty and I have no idea how I want to celebrate.

Last year I had two of my friends from Ann Arbor over and we had food and played D&D. I know I want to do something even if its not terribly big and I'd love thoughts.

My parents are visiting later in the month and I know that will involve celebrations, they also sent me a package that I need to get from the post office. Apparently I heard the post man at the buzzer but they didn't talk into it so I was confused and missed it.

Also there will be the new X-Men movie at some point since I've had good luck with movies of his that come out near my birthday. Becoming Jane came out in New Zealand the week of my birthday and I saw it twice since it made me happy.

Please tell me some of your favorite birthday plots and plans?

In something not birthday related, I got my haircut and it looks great. Its at my chin and so much lighter though the hairdresser almost forgot to cut my bangs until I reminded her. I'm still feeling tired but I think that's really the heat and how there wasn't any in between here. We just went from rainy to full on summer.

I like to sit around and RP on my birthday, and not be bothered by much of anything. But that's just me. One time my sweetheart had a surprise party for me. That was really fun, but it's just not the kind of thing you can plan for yourself.

Pictures of the haircut, y/y?

Two birthdays ago we had a BYOG night or ElanCon as we jokingly called it. Basically everyone brought a game (card, board, whatever) to share and everyone played it. It was a great way to get introduced to new games and if you have enough people you can split off into different games.

If you buy any games I would highly suggest Chrononauts (http://www.wunderland.com/LooneyLabs/Chrononauts/). It's a very easy complex strategy or just blind luck kind of game. And it's very popular with history buffs.

That actually sounds like a nice birthday!

You play D&D? Have you seen this video - Roll a D6 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54VJWHL2K3I) - it's hysterical and awesome.

I don't think I've actually ~celebrated~ my birthday with a party for ... ohgod, well, let's just say. Since I was in middle-school?

So. Yeah.

Birthdays for me have basically been a wild array of occasions every year. I usually have what I deem ~birthday week~ in which I get together with all of my favourite people during the week, separately, for little small lunches or coffees or dinners or whatever.

That way I get to see all my favourite people, I don't put any pressure on anyone to ~buy me a gift~ or to attend my big shindig and stand around awkwardly trying to ~mingle~ with a slew of my other friends, and I get one-on-one time with whoever I'm with.

Plus? I get to spend a WEEK celebrating my birthday.

Pictures of haircut, plz!

June's here already, holy cow. Geminis unite!

I'm not a huge ~*~birthday party~*~ person -- I like to grab dinner and drinks with people I adore, and keep it low-key. I get super-excited about other people's birthdays! But when it comes to my own, ehhhh, for me, it's typically just another day.

But my most epic birthday was my 23rd; one of my BFFs from undergrad and I had a joint happy birthday/happy trails celebration, and it was ridonkulous. We crammed about 30 people into my apartment to pre-game, and then hit this hilarious dive of a karaoke bar. We stormed the place, usurping all of the forty-somethings, and had everyone singing along to "Don't Stop Believing" by the time we closed down the place. Afterward, we hit Tolly-Ho (it's Lexington's all-hours institution, for sure) for burgers and shakes; I don't think I saw my bed till well after sunrise.

Uh, my 24th saw Moonshine Mania 2K7, and that is something I most definitely not not recommend, ever. Ever ever EVER.
