Too many storms

Now I happen to enjoy rain but not when it buckets down and I have to walk through it. Currently I still feel rather damp from when I walked into town about five hours ago, but I have cinnamon raisin bread to make toast with when I make it home. For now I'm going to do the questions meme that's floating around as
skidmo tagged me.
The Rules:
1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.
2. If you would like to help keep the meme going, please tag up to six people, not including the person who tagged you. If not, that's okay too! I'm keeping Aspen's rewording, since the "don't refuse to tag!" thing always gets my hackles up. I think most of my flist has been tagged at this point so fill it in if you want to.
.01. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up.
My oilskin hat from New Zealand
Graduate Reference printers
Reference phone that I just answered
Photographs of Michigan on the walls
Flatscreen monitors running through library ads
02. How do you style your hair?
I brush it under slightly but in the morning I just tend to brush it out.
03. What are you wearing now?
Black slacks from Lane Bryant that still feel damp from my walk, a pretty pink v-neck top from Eddie Bauer, my wonderful ankle boots, a locket I bought from
fire_and_a_rose, shell earrings my parents gave me and my beat up flower ring from a local store along with appropriate undergarmets.
04. What's your occupation?
Student Reference Assistant at Hatcher Graduate Library and masters' student at the School of Information at the University of Michigan. I'm also prepping to find a full time library job after I graduate.
05. What are you hearing right now?
Door's opening, my keyboard typing and that's it, the library is very dead at 10:40 pm on a Wednesday.
06. What's your favorite guilty pleasure treat?
Off the top of my head, Starbucks' Earl Grey tea latte, the Broken Eggs' Yertle the Turtle French Toast-homemade French toast with caramel, whip cream and peanuts
07. Are you hungry?
A little, more damp
08. What's the most memorable thing someone's said to you this week?
This is Luigi Boccherini.
09. Dog person or cat person?
I prefer to own cats but I love dogs. I'm a good doggie aunt.
10. What song is currently stuck in your head?
Nothing, but Gary Allan's Trying to Matter is usually hanging around in my thoughts.
11. What was the last thing you bought?
Earl Grey tea latte at Starbucks
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Back to Europe, New Zealand, road trip all over the US
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I want to be working at a small public library and running wonderful youth programs and doing more writing.
14. Last book you read?
Pushing the Limits: New Ideas in Engineering by Henry Petroski. I bought it since it made me think of Sameth and then found it fascinating. I want to read more of this author's work as he makes me understand engineering.
15. What are you doing this weekend?
Sleep, for some reason my sleep schedules been off lately. Go grocery shopping as I keep putting it off and really need to. Have lunch with one friend and see Harry and the Potters in concert with another.
16. If you could suddenly be in a production, what kind would it be?
I miss the theater but the chance to do storytelling would make me happy. I want an audience.
17. How are you?
Damp, sore and tired. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm still drying out from my walk.
18. What are you doing tomorrow?
Hopefully very little, maybe I'll catch up on some DVD watching.
19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Seeing my parents in about a month, doing this with friends this weekend and being home so I can change out of my damp clothes and make toast.
Quick edit to boost the signal on the amazing prompt meme that's going on due to
bethan_b_bad's brilliance. I've added one prompt so far and will add more and keep looking over the fantastic ones that are there. Also I changed the icon as Bones fits my current mood.

Date: 2011-06-01 04:33 am (UTC)I just remember having to read a certain number of books by suchnsuch a date for school. I was in the second grade, but I was reading at a fourth grade reading level, so I was into chapter books. And I was almost finished with this one book, the last one I needed to hit my number - and I remember turning up in time to hand the book in but I wasn't finished and they locked up the library and let me stay 30 minutes late to finish my book. A then signed my form for me. I was 7, I was very proud to be the only person in the class who had their page signed by a legit librarian and not just my mom.
That's my library story - and why I always liked the little library best. Though the bigger library had puppet shows and was where I got my Madeleine L'Engle autograph.
