I just came back from leading a wonderful tour of the campus to prospective SI students and this is the first time I've been online today. The news of Diana Wynne Jones' passing makes me so sad but I know she'd been sick.
She will be missed since her books are ones I always recommend to anyone as they're the kind of books which shift how you see the world.
The first book of hers I read was Charmed Life and I read it and reread it and it wasn't until I was in New Zealand that I was aware of all her other books. She was not only a prolific writer but one who spanned genres with characters who were real.
