Something That's Been in My Head

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read all my worries on the page last night, I'm feeling better now. There is a much saner plan for how to deal with the wordy loveliness that is The Abhorsen Chronicles and tomorrow I'm going to start moving and sorting the library for my internship.
In the meantime, the millirific prompt from last week, Paradox has been working its way around my head this past week and I want to try and write it out. This is going to be rough and if I like it well enough and it seems to make sense to people who aren't just me than I'll post it up there. Also someday I will figure out a way of heading my fics that I like and is consistent, in the meantime, I apologize that it changes.
Sameth, Abhorsen Chronicles and Kait Galweigh, The Secret Texts, slight spoilers for both in the text
Sameth was tired, but then it felt lately, he'd never not been tired. There was always something to do as Prince, as Wallmaker to make things right. It seemed that he never ended up in the Bar as much as he wanted to, doors are hard to find in the countryside of the Old Kingdom. This time, he'd found a door in an old cottage near a stream and an old Charter Stone. From his seat at the Bar, he could hear and see most things as the mulled wine just warmed him.
When she entered, he heard her before he saw her, that rich voice that matched her dark hair and mysterious eyes. He turned and froze as another man was beside her, blond hair and they fit, Ry. Kait had mentioned him, another Karnee, yet they both were surprised at the Bar. Finally he had to turn away from listening to their introduction, he'd seen how she fit in the crook of his arm. Someone had told him about other versions of people that came in, from other moments, other lives, the true ones would return in time. All he could hear was her voice and that laugh, which could warm him to the bone and make him feel as if he knew how to find his way.
He ordered another drink, not mulled wine but brandy, Nick once brought it to school, the good stuff. It burned and that was what counted, the burn to counter her voice and her rightness with him, Ry.
