I have to make a podcast booktalk for my children's literature class but the tech and I just aren't getting along. I made a recording last night that I was decently happy with but then I haven't been able to open it up again to play it back.

So I've been trying to rerecord it but that hasn't been working. I'm not going to my 1 oclock class because I just want to get this stupid thing done.

I know its supposed to be a fun and interesting thing to do but so far all I want to do is throw Audacity out a window but I can't since its a program.

ETA: And its done and I found out how I did on my illustrator presentation, 77 out of 100. I hate this since I like the class but the last two weeks, I just seem to be not doing my best even in the class I like.

Man, Audacity is the most evil recording program ever. Last time I had to do a project with it I think it ate half our progress before we got it done.

That's pretty much what's happened to me. Now when I try and do another recording, nothing seems to record.

I emailed my professor since I really figured this project wouldn't take quite so long.

Is there anything else that might work for recording that you know of?

I don't personally have experience with any other programs...I think when my roommate gets fed up with Audacity she just goes to the library and uses the professional recording equipment from the film department. I'm guessing you don't have access to such a thing.

Google, however, has turned up what looks like a handy program: Easy Hi-Q Recorder. (http://www.roemersoftware.com/) The free version is the second one on the page, I think.

Oh and, I almost forgot, I think when I used Audacity last we had to delete it and reinstall it to get it to work again. It's been a few years, but I'm pretty sure that's how we managed it.

I just downloaded the google one, so I'll see how that works. At least the class its for isn't until 5:30 and I'm skipping my 1 to 4 class.
