Old Kingdom Plot Stuff

I should be doing an artifact model and I will soon, but in the meantime I'm going to lay out Sameth's plot stuff.

This is probably only of interest to the other Old Kingdom muns but we're going to need some NPCs so I'll just have this up and would love ideas on what would make sense. Since I mention NPCs, I should mention who we have set. I know that ashen_key can pull off a lovely Ellimere and there's a possible Nick too.

The first ones we'll need for the reservoir scene would be Touchstone and then later a Lirael and Dog, if we can't get them, it can be worked with. I just know that I personally don't get Lirael well enough to write her.

Currently Sam is in the period of time after his birthday and before the scene in the reservoir, it'd be lovely to thread out that scene. I'm thinking of having Sam come back to the Bar before it since there's at least two or three months rattling around in there since his birthday's in the Winter and he leaves in the Spring.

The next part would be the disguise and leaving part, I'm going to have him enter the Bar not long after he's left the castle and possibly right before he enters the Inn. Since I adore how he has a very nice illusion but a bad disguise. Then the whole Inn scene will be an OOM.

Now the really fun OOMs start that involve threading out Yrael and Sameth stuff, possibly one or two around here before meeting up with Lirael. Then a couple more as they head off to the Abhorsen's House.

One big fun one for the worst dinner party ever and I plan on bringing Sam into the Bar right after this.

Then lots of traveling and more chaos on the road. Amy, I figure somewhere in here, you'll be doing the Sabriel-Touchstone stuff. Everything moves towards big battle at the end, which is going to be fun to thread out and figure out. I hope to bring Sam back into the Bar almost right after the battle is done so he can let Bar!Yrael know that things are sorted and then collapse.

Does this make sense to everyone else? I know its not terribly detailed just yet, but I wanted to try and get the timeline clear in my head.

Will you have NPCs people can take over? I've read the books in the last few weeks and would love to help with OOMs -- threading might be more fun than just paraphrasing canon?

So far we have Ellimere and Nick covered but that's it.

NPCs are wonderful things so if there's someone you'd really like to do, we can might work.

The ones that no one has really volunteered for since they're trickier are Lirael and/or Dog.

Thing is, we used to have them both in the bar, and at least Lirael is still on the cast list, under 'Old Kingdom Trilogy'...

Otherwise, I'd really love to volunteer for the Dog.

Kibbeth hasn't been in the Bar for YEARS, and I've never seen Lirael in. Ever. And at that point, my own inclination is to go 'well, the spots are open for OOMs'.

If anyone wants to do Lirael, I have icons! Charter'd, even. And if no one else picks her up, I could probably try my hand at her for these OOMs - after all, the script is in the book.

Its always possible to do both too since really its not until the end that those two are in a scene together.

Also yes, I'm not looking to cause anyone to app, threading plot is just more fun since then you can add missing moments and things.

Oh, I know I can do both! I was just saying that if anyone else wants to do Lirael, I don't have any particular attachment to her. And would prefer someone ELSE to write her, really, given my RL.

And heh, apping. I'm sitting on Ellie, because I've no idea what I'd DO with her in Bar. It's a good reason, I think.

It is but in the meantime, playing her in OOMs can be a lot of fun. I need to check over canon but I'm trying to recall if there's a talk with Ellie before the reservoir stuff, I know there's one after.

It might be interesting actually to do a bit of a missing moment between them before I bring Sam back in before reservoir etc. Can you tell I'm putting off work?

Um, I'm not sure. I don't THINK so - at least, not one that is in canon, although I do presume they talk anyway. I can toddle off to library (I'm hoping before work, but I'll certainly be there post it) with canon in hand, if you want?

I'm pretty sure there isn't since they have only a few actual conversations and lots of mentions of things. *eyes Nix* Yes, Lirael is nice but more time in Belisaere wouldn't have hurt.

Just since I've been thinking of how to deal with covering some time and his possibly being slightly less sullen and then falling back.

Also the letter from Nick, basically I want to write out that period for him and kind of don't have a clear idea so I'm trying to think of a way that adds something that canon needs more of which is them being siblings.

Yay, good. I think I will make myself tea, set up my assignment thing and read over that part of canon.

At least all of Sam's parts of canon in that bit aren't terribly long which is useful.

Lirael and the Mogget don't have much interaction even when they're in the same boat (literally and figuratively), so I'd totally be up for NPCing her.
