A Grey Week
Nov. 18th, 2004 05:26 pmDunedin is trying to become Pennsylvania, the weather has been grey, cold and rainy. If it was just a little bit colder, I'd feel like I was at home. Which all quite annoying since there have been days when its hot and sunny and feels amazing. All very odd. Lots of good news, I keep finding presents and steadily checking people off my list which is a nice feeling. Dunedin is fun for shopping and Whitcoulls, the big bookstore here has been having a nice sale so I've been able to pick up some books for myself and others.
I finally had lunch with Alison, yesterday, my connection at the University and it was just lovely. Also she wants to meet my parents when they get here which won't be very long. She's a really interesting woman, she helps international students get settled and works with exchange programs all over the world to come to Dunedin. And we went to this lovely cafe for lunch, one of my favorites. Tonight I'm having a frozen Indian dinner from there.
And I just bought a plant for my flat. I went to this wonderful store/florist/gardening shop where I found my present for Ava and some plants were on sale and this lovely red begonia where there and kind of said, "Hello, I know you want a plant and I need a good home." So I've adopted a lovely blush begonia. Hopefully it'll live a good life and brighten up my space. Work is quiet and good, today was a very quiet day since most of the office went down to one of the other divisions for a party. And the Eagles clobbered the Cowboys, though it was awful having them play Monday Night Football since I basically kept checking through the end of work and after to find out what happened. But 49 to 21 and the Eagles still reign. That's all for now.
