Jan. 17th, 2010 04:05 pmThis is going to be a rather rambly post just as a warning since I just started a non-fiction book that got me thinking and I promised
ashen_key some pictures of my book carpeted flat.
Apparently Sunday is also turning into my truly lazy day since I slept in quite late and I have to work on my Python homework at some point but gah its crazy for the assignments I need to provide code and screenshots of the programs. I find the programming stuff interesting just I'm not going to think about it for a bit.
Just a reminder that this meme is still open and there are three spots left on it.
Now I just started reading a book called Double Fold that my father gave me for Christmas about libraries, bound newspapers and microfilm, the first that struck me as I read this book was it made me think of a book called Loot. Loot was about who do antiquities really belong to, their country of origin or museums and the writer was very impassioned and kind of drank the kool aid from Hawas, the major antiquities guy from Egypt.
What made me think of this book was that Double Fold is also very impassioned and they both have points but for me at least when I read a book where someone's arguing so heavily and going, look at how wrong all these people are, it makes me skeptical. I think its a reminder of why in academic things, professors always push that fact of if you really care, don't let that slip in, because it gets in the way of what you're saying.
Picture time, the following pictures are to show that yes, I do have bookcases which are full and I have books on my floor, sofa and kitchen table. I really need more bookcases since I love finding books and I might not read them for a while but they're there.
( I live with my books. )
