Saturday Morning at Hatcher
Jan. 16th, 2010 10:48 amIts gotten cold again but this morning is so far pretty good. I realized that I haven't updated and I feel like there's a list but for now I'll just write. I just explained about the copy of the Parthenon Frieze in the Hatcher to a family visiting from Virgina and I love when my world's collide.
This is part of why I want to be a librarian so that I can spread all sorts of knowledge out into the world. I want to help young people find their own stories while teaching them about other tales they might not know of.
Now I'm going to boost the signal about
help_haiti, I haven't put anything up there since I'm not sure what to offer but go give it a read through.
My classes are going well and my days are going to be busy but a good sort of busy. I feel like I've found my feet after last semester when I was all over the place. In my School Library Management class there are only seven of us which is wonderful, I think its going to be my favorite class. E-communities is I think the one where I'm going to feel like I'm drowning slightly since its really interesting but very dense. Archives and 502, the programming class are fascinating and different, both practical but taught by people who really are interested in why things work how they do and why the people who define programming and archives talk about themselves.
Also I think that I'm going to try and hang out with the stunt fighting group that meets on Sundays and Thursdays since I have Thursday nights free. Hopefully I can find some fellow geeks since I know they must be about somewhere. Its odd how SI seems like it should be so geeky but not a lot of people really get what I'm talking about when I mention RPing. I just need to remember to call them to RSVP for this coming Thursday.
Now I'm in a good mood and I'm here until 2 so give me prompts or just comment.
