Film Festival Update
Nov. 8th, 2008 02:57 pmI just saw a French film called The Grocer's Son which was sweet and lovely but a trifle too long. The scenery of Southern France got me thinking a bit about Demeter and I found it enjoyable.
Though I've decided to not see another film today, I had a nice time hanging out in the film festival tent and had some yummy lunch, but I think one film a day makes more sense to me. It seems that there's this agreement that for a film to be arty it has to be almost two hours long and slow even the one I saw last night had its moments when a good editor really wouldn't have hurt.
Tomorrow I'm going to see a film called Man on Wire about a tightrope walker who walked between the Twin Towers so that should be fascinating. Oh and the weather is giving me the hint to hide inside which is just fine with me and the family with lots of Moroccan connections are here so we're having lamb tangine with quince tonight.
