Winter Finally!
Dec. 6th, 2006 09:40 amThe weather chilled yesterday and now it feels like winter. I've been busy and happy the past few days so I haven't had a chance to update. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, went to a potluck dinner with my parents in Lewes and made afghans and they went over really well. So I'm going to try and make them again for Christmas, I love learning how to make a dish from another country at home. Recently I've been reacquainting myself with Swarthmore and Lewes and friends with lovely phone calls and planning christmas presents. I bought my family presents in New Zealand so now I'm working on little things for friends in New Zealand and other places, which is always fun. Also I've been doing some little jobs to save money for next year since I'm officially accepted into the Masters program at Victoria, it was pretty certain I would be, but now I have it in writing. :-)
Oh and I finally read The End of A Series of Unfortunate Events and wish that I had Phil around to discuss it with. Again I recommend the series, and today I picked up a copy of Terry Pratchett's new book, so more on that when I've finished it. Let's see, the weather is crisp and chilly, so it feels like winter. My nieces are full of energy and wonderful and I keep finding little presents for them. Also I have a wonderful job at the moment, cataloging my father's scifi book and magazine collection so he can sell it online, he's been reading scifi since the 50s so its quite a lot of fun. Also at some point, I'll be doing some work at the college and some transcribing for my mother, so I'm busy in a good way. Otherwise not too much is going, tis nice to be home, but I have my moments of missing walking in Wellington, but I'll end up back there soon anyway. Happy Winter!!
