Hopeful Thoughts
Jul. 16th, 2005 07:25 pmLife is looking better today. After writing yesterday's entry, Rowan and I saw The Fantastic Four, which was a good comic book movie, fun, great effects, silly dialogue and pretty boys and girls for us both to ogle. We laughed and just had a great time then went and played Scrabble at one of our favorite cafes. So life is seeming more hopeful.
Then this morning, we slept till the afternoon after my allergies bothered me most of the night. Then wandered around the hills of Dunedin finding a different way to get to Moana pool, which is always good. I love just wanderering around, having a vague idea of where you are and enjoying new views. Then the great moment of knowing where you are. We arrived at the pool and had a good swim though I think I may have lost a contact. Now we're just sitting at the computer before heading back to Rowan's place and making cheesecake with boysenberries. Which will be a fun experience in cooking. In other good news, I received an email from a classics professor at Victoria University, who's interested in all the stuff I'm into, saying its great to find someone who shares my interests and I'd love to talk to you about planning graduate ideas. So that makes me feel great and as if there is a way that I can get a degree for learning about oral and literate differences in poetry and other things, and get to read more Homer, hopefully. So things are looking up and The Fantastic Four is a fun silly movie. Oh and here are two pictures I forget to include before. And I'm not going to cut so sorry about the space.
The bird is a fantail, a wonderful New Zealand bird that always looks like its having a great time. The place is where I worked and will work again at Arthur Barnett, a concrete box basically. The fantail someone flew through KMart which is on the other side of a wall in the box and got stuck in our area. So I grabbed some pictures while I could since fantails are really fast and then I went down the elevator with it and let it out through Inward Goods or the loading dock.
Fantail flying through the furniture and boxes that make up the workspace.
And its fantail, which makes this lovely bird a real New Zealand icon.
