Good Weekend
Nov. 1st, 2004 05:07 pmThis was a nice weekend, the anniversary party was a lot of fun, vintage cars, lot of older volunteers in their best, the new mayor of Dunedin giving his first official speech, a jazz band, charleston dancers and a yummy high tea. The only not great part was that the weather was grey and rainy and I felt slightly out of place. But a good talk afterwards with Rowan helped since its always hard coming to a party like that when you've only been with the organization a couple of weeks. Saturday was just a grey, yucky day again so I read, talked to my parents and watched Sleepy Hollow on tv and Johnny Depp can make so many things better. It was nice since while watching it, I got to hang out with some of my flatmates and get free food.
Sunday was just a lovely, lovely day so I went to the Botanic Gardens and just read with a short break for a guided walk through the Azaleas and Rhododendrons. Then a good talk with Rowan, who's in the midst of exams. Then back to work today, life is being pretty basic and good. Though I keep wavering in a stressful state whenever I think about the election. But the Eagles are undefeated so that calms me down and makes me bouncy. Nothing really going on at work just waiting for it to be the 3rd so I can see Terry Pratchett and find out what happens with the election.
