A good weekend
Oct. 17th, 2004 12:31 pmI've had a good week and weekend, since I've got a good job with interesting people. Oh and I benefit of my job that I forgot to mention, this is the 75th anniversary of the Cancer Society so on October 29th, they're throwing this 1920s afternoon tea and I'm invited. So I get to dress up and meet lots of cool people and have free food. Let's see, yesterday went to an awesome used bookstore and today I'm going to get my library card. Also, they have a tradition at University of Otago of reading Paradise Lost aloud, so I went and heard Book IX, which was awesome. So even though the day was grey and kind of sucky, was able to have fun in a bookstore with Rowan, read for a while, treat myself to a nice dinner and hear John Milton read aloud. Its amazing how powerful poetry can be when read aloud. I recommend when reading poetry to take your time and read some of it aloud. When its that good, you can just be transported.
Today the sun actually came out, so I'm going to do some basic shopping, but spend a lot of it sitting outside and reading. Oh and I still haven't found an internet place with a scanner, so it might take me longer to post the pictures then I expected, but I will.
