New Job and the flat
Oct. 13th, 2004 09:48 pmThe new job is good, I'm working as a temporary receiptionist at the Cancer Society. Its a friendly place full of nice ladies that remind me of the Lang Center. Everyone's being really helpful and I've picked up what I need to do without too much of a problem. The only downside is that I have to open up the office so I have to be there at 8:30 and its about a thirty minute walk from my flat. Its all downhill, but its still thirty minutes. Though my day does end up 4:30, so its a good place and I don't know exactly how many months I'll be there, it all depends on how quickly they find a permnanent person.
I'm getting comfortable in the place and have developed two roles of film and put pictures up on the wall. And I realized that I have a fridge and thus can have magnets. So if anyone sees any fun, small magnets send them in the mail. I think that's about it at this point. I"m starting to get to know the people in the house, but most of them are students so they're stressed and exam mode. Also in November, who's there is going to change as some of the students leave. But its nice going to the kitchen or to watch tv and falling into a nice conversation. At some point I'll post pictures, but today I'm just feeling worn out and so I'll do it another day.
