Wolverine-Pretty Men, Marvel wtfery and Exposions-good for a rainy night

First off, the weather just got weird. When I started out, it was grey and a little drizzly but when the movie finished fog had descended and that sort of misty rain was falling and I'm really glad its a Monday night because that's freaky to drive in.

Also I'm doing a lot better, I had a bit of crazy moment earlier this evening when my transcript arrived and just trying to suss everything out but things are good now. I needed to get out of the house and do something else just remind myself that there is a world out there and I will have a good time in it.

I went into this movie with some pretty low expectations thanks to the pretty mixed reviews that my flist has been giving it but I came out pleasantly surprised. Most of the changes and such made sense to me in terms of how Marvel tends to mess things up, weird sorts of retcons that only work because they make things cooler type of things. I put Emma and Scott and the whole group of young mutants in that section which goes under, I'm sure it made sense to them at the time.

I really loved the group at the beginning and was wondering if anyone could tell me the mutant Dominic Monaghan was playing because I want to read more about him. Also they found a great Remy who makes me miss Sterling's Remy from Bar so much, he was just awesome though I kind of wish the accent was even more but then I'm a sucker for accents.

The fights were cool but I'm not sure I liked the changes at the start, the opening sequence was really beautifully done but the story from the original Origin miniseries still makes more sense to me. I'm very curious to talk more about the movie since it was actually just what I needed tonight, Hugh Jackman being pretty, some funny lines here and there and some distracting fights.

Oh thank you, I just really liked him. Especially because his power was not terribly obvious and I'm a Dominic fan too.

I was totally surprised he was even in the movie! I'd kept myself more or less spoiler free, but I wasn't utterly unaware and yet I knew nothing of Dominic's involvement.

I cannot express how much the opening sequence - well, the credit sequence - rocked. Ir was beautiful.

It really was beautiful,there were some moments when I was happily surprised by it.

I'm curious though do you know if the part they say is the Canadian Rockies actually was since I kept thinking that it looked like New Zealand?

The movie was filmed in Australia and New Zealand, so I doubt those were REAL Canadian Rockies. The Alkali Lake base from the previous movies didn't look the same, either, and certainly not like Northern Alberta where it's supposed to be.

One major section he was wearing only a towel and then afterwards he jumps off a waterfall and you get a great butt shot.
