I got a flat!!!!
Sep. 13th, 2004 10:27 amAt the end of this week, I will be moving into my flat. So that means that I'm changing over from the nice hotel to a cheaper hostel since I know where I"m going and it doesn't matter quite so much where I stay. Though the place I found is actually quite nice even though its a tenth or so of the price. Quite odd, but that's okay. I'm happy. When I found out last night, I was bouncing around and craving candy, but I didn't have enough money for the vending machine so I just had a nice long talk with the woman at reception. She's from Beijing and has been studying in New Zealand for three years and was just really nice. Today I went and looked at the prices of sheets and pillows and that's a fun thing to think about. I'm happy and so this week, my project is to go and bug the places I gave my resume too and let them know I'm somewhere different and will soon have an actual place to live. Yay!!!!
Okay, the place I"m going to be moving into is an international boarding house that's got these amazing views since Dunedin built on hills and its near the top of the major hills, so you can see Otago Bay and the Pacific. My rent will pay for a fridge and heater in the room, phone, kitchen, utilities and furniture in the room. Also there are eleven other people in the house from all over the world, which means interesting people to hang out with and get to know. Life is good and now its a matter of not spending too much money until I get a job, but the exchange rates pretty nice to me and anyway most of my money is for setting up purposes and I know I'll get a job soon. Having a place to call my own will just allow me to feel more confident and like I really will make it here.
