Well I just got back from my interview and it was wonderful. The library's wonderful with lots of great archives and cool stuff and the woman who runs it is nice. Pretty much we just talked for an hour about plans and books and all kinds of good stuff. So she's going to check my references and then we'll see. It sounds like they are lots of projects going on that I could work on. Also fairly flexible hours so I can put in as much time as I want, which will probably be a lot since it just has a positive good feel to it. I mean, I could see myself working with this woman throughout the year and in that place and not getting tired of it. Also I just read Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf, if you haven't read it already, read it. Absolutely beautiful, and when you realize that the story is from Old English its a great feeling, that such a work of literature came from the world of the British Isles, Scandanvia and Europe not the far off mists of the Mediterranean, and coming from a classics person that means something. ;-) Overall a wonderful day and I've got great pictures of the LARP, my niece and Grounds for Sculpture, so if anyone knows how I can post them up here, please let me know. Thanks in advance. I'll put more up about the internship when I know.
