Snowflake Challenge-Day 13
Jan. 14th, 2015 12:06 amI love today's
snowflake_challenge but its really hard to pick just one person to rec.
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing.
I was drawn into the show Primeval because of Milliways, someone mentioned it or was playing a character from it. It somehow turned out that I had access to all three seasons, that was all there was at the point I started watching and I fell in love. So I went to
vivien and asked for recs and she pointed me towards a community and one author in particular, Alyse. I was hooked and I still go back and read these fics even though I never did watch season four, five or the spinoff. Primeval hits a lot of my tropes; found family, people in love with their work, complicated relationships and great action sequences. Alyse's fanfiction brings all of that out while focusing on my favorite couple of Connor and Abby, these are the fics that I reread.
Wide Open to the Sun where Abby takes a big step and the writing is gorgeous.
Check. Mate. which involves strip chess and grieving all mixed up together.
Sparkles, a sex pollen fic that begins in the morning after with awkward and loving and perfect.
Kissing It Better, that's set after the awful finale with them trapped and is about coming home and helping each other get better.
Even if you don't know the fandom terribly well, she's a fantastic writer and one of my absolute favorites as she gets the awkward, the intimate in beautiful words.
