Another great writer gone, you'll be missed Brian Jacques. When I was younger, I had stacks of Redwall books, I tried to buy them as soon as they came out and read them hungrily. I loved the world and all the details, food and places, it felt so real. I remember wanting to know how each hero would make their journey and I learned that many things would be the same but I loved the variations. In one of the early books, the hero has to fight a huge snake in a cave and it terrified me. When I finally read Harry Potter in college, that image came back to me. He prepared me for Tolkien and a love of delving into other worlds.

Today has been a strange day, even though I went to bed early and slept late, I don't feel like I've quite woken up. There's a small assignment I need to do for my class tomorrow and stuff for a meeting but at the moment I feel low on ideas. I've been filling some prompts because that's helpful and all my RP is slowed. This is just a strange mood, I want to do things but nothing too much. Perhaps its time for dinner and tea or hot cider.

I've never read any of the Redwall books, but one of my best friends used to fanboy me about them!

In any case, it's sad news. :(

But at least he wrote some enjoyable books, and pleased a lot of readers, which is really the most awesome thing to do for a writer.
