What lies ahead
Jan. 31st, 2012 02:57 pmGEMINI (May 21-June 20): "If Mark Twain had had Twitter," says humorist Andy Borowitz, "he would have been amazing at it. But he probably wouldn't have gotten around to writing Huckleberry Finn." I think you're facing a comparable choice, Gemini. You can either get a lot of little things done that will serve your short-term aims, or else you can at least partially withdraw from the day-to-day give-and-take so as to devote yourself with more focus to a long-range goal. I'm not here to tell you which way to go; I just want to make sure you know the nature of the decision before you.
Once again Uncle Rob has hit my life fairly perfectly on the nose as I look at what lies in front of me. My life is full of small deadlines and moments in my part-time work combined with my writing and roleplaying as always in the background is the larger work of finding a job. Today I went to a meeting about hiring in public libraries that showed me that I have been doing most of the right things but this is a difficult time to look for a job. I knew that going in and I keep making connections to help me along, but a lot of what I have to do is keep putting myself out there. That keeps being the hardest part for me, figuring out how to get my foot in the door and seen enough that I'll get that chance to say, please, let me tell you what I can do. I think I'm going to try and schedule into my weeks a couple of hours when I only do job search work because if I don't, I fear all the small goals will fill my time. I hope I can find a balance enough to accomplish what I need and want.
Now this little meme just started popping on my flist and it's one I really enjoy as I want to know what you'd like me to write about. Last seen on
