I have book festivaled!
Jun. 25th, 2011 06:24 pmI'm home and online for the first time today as I left the house a little after eleven. In that time, I helped to set up a room, talked with kids and parents, had a vase full of water fall over on me and had a fantastic time. Manga Mania at the Ann Arbor Book Festival went incredibly well, we didn't have a huge crowd but we did have a good one.
This was the first year in the festival was in North Quad and the first time this particular event happened so it didn't have as much publicity as it might have and North Quad is confusing. I spent a lot of the afternoon helping people figure out how to get places. Next year there will be more and I picked up a t-shirt and had a great day. Since I got there so early, I ended up getting a free lunch and hearing three authors talk about how they handle social media.
I think that I'm going to email the tech guy at North Quad and ask him out for coffee sometime as we connected and I hope the woman I saw him with today isn't his girlfriend. On my way home I finished reading A Tale of Time City and it reminded me a lot of Hexwood, I enjoyed it but its not going into my top five or ten lists of Diana Wynne Jones' books.
I have a lot of wonderful questions to answer that I think I'll do later. For now I'm far more tired and so I'm going to RP and not think too much for a little while.
In computer news, I'm currently on Firefox 5 on my new laptop and liking it but I may switch between Chrome and Firefox, they both work.
