Odd Monday

My first class of the week looks fascinating, a social sciences approach to the world of Information and a nice complement to History of the Book. Sadly, I go to check my email and find out that suddenly I'm working a Sunday night chat shift that I missed.

Now I've been trying to be really good and check the scheduling software for the library, but I swear when I was putting together my Google calendar on Friday, it wasn't there.

I've apologized and said that actually, I'd rather not take it. 7 hours isn't a lot, but when I have two classes that I know are going to require group work and its my last semester, shorter hours works for me. Also I'm already working 7 hours at America Reads, having the weekend to myself seems wonderful. I sent an apologetic email to my boss explaining things, but gah. I also feel sure that me having this is fairly new, which is also worrying me. I check my schedule, I do. Now I'm all in knots instead of feeling excited about my classes.

I think I'll find a table and set up my laptop and drink my tea and hit some RP tags while staying in touch with the job stuff. Then I have class at 5, which I needed my laptop for. Blah, not how I wanted to start my Monday.

And I just applied for graduation and haven't heard back from work yet and have class at 5. At least I've had food and have my tea. Things will get sorted.

I figured out what happened, the chat schedule I think starts later than the regular schedule. So I think that's why I didn't see the Sunday shift listed and since I was deep in class reading, I wasn't checking my school email.

I'm so grateful that the chat woman is putting the chat shift up, because one of my Monday classes is a seminar and the other is going to require a reflective blog so I need my Sunday nights. Also I was starting to figure my hours and with America Reads plus reference work, I'm going to be working fourteen hours on top of my schoolwork, that's enough.

Professional Practice looks like its going to be a great course, the three hours just flew by which I thought they would. This prof just knows her stuff and we ended by doing a podcast which I liked. I'm feeling scattered but I'm home and have tea and my next class isn't until 5 pm tomorrow.

In happy news, I applied for graduation today so the end is in sight.
