Dealing with the Travel Gods
Aug. 4th, 2010 01:01 pmThis evening, I'll be on a plane flying back to the East Coast. Currently I'm at home and doing laundry and all the various things I need to get done before I leave. If all goes well, I'll probably end up in Lewes sometime around midnight tonight. I probably won't be online past 3:30 today and will be on sporadically while I'm at home. There's wireless there but also family and beach and time to not have to do things.
Life is pretty good at the moment, my plans for next semester and coming together more. The internship's going to be the craziest thing to figure out but I will. In the meantime I think that I'm going to just push Sameth through canon. I adore the Abhorsen Chronicles, but for me, I'd rather have Sameth through things. So I think I'm going to do a really shortened version of things. Send him out and do an OOM of thinking over what happened and then back in the Bar for a bit. Then back out to get to the end. If anyone else in canon wants to do longer threadings, I'll help with that, but I want Sameth through. This will end up in an email to the other Old Kingdom folks later, for now I'm going to figure out what's possible. I don't want to take him out until I have the OOMs written so he can be out briefly and back. Then have time to adjust to the changes before the next round. Since to me that's what Nix was bad about in the books, he never gave the characters time and even in the books, there's a feeling of oh your world's been turned upside down, too bad, now you have to save it. That's really the main thing that I wanted to fix with Sameth, give him space and time to breath and adjust and realize his path is the right one. This ended up rather longer than I expected.
I think in the next day or so, I might end up posting a prompt meme since I love doing them. Also it would provide me some nice things to think about while I'm at home.
