All Sorts of Good
Apr. 3rd, 2009 04:21 pmLast night there was a really scary storm, some of the strongest lightning and thunder I've seen in years but I slept well. I decided to set out much earlier than I needed to this morning just to be safe and that ended up being a good plan.
It turns out that the class I was meant to observe History of Printing was being held in the library so for the first hour I actually listened in on a class on Data Security. Then went to the eighth floor of one of the graduate libraries and learned about lithography and other cool stuff. Both classes were fascinating and completely different though I was struck by how many people had laptops in class. It made me feel oddly old in terms of what I'm used to as a student.
Then I had a lovely lunch with a current student and we talked about all sorts of things before I talked to an admissions officer. There I learned one of the best things, for some reason I thought that the last day to apply for the Fall was March 15th, its actually May 1st, so I know what I'm going to be doing for the rest of April. My plan still holds true of finding work and I think I've missed the cut off for some various types of aid but my plan to work and be here in the Summer would still work.
After that I made a few phone calls and got my stuff from the bandb and I'm currently hanging out in the Crazy Wisdom Tea Room after having some lovely jasmine tea and waiting to hear from
the_croupier. My feet hurt and I got rained on today but I'm feeling hopeful and I could see myself here so easily and I can see things starting and growing.
