Jul. 23rd, 2006 06:58 pmYesterday was a good day, I slept in and had a nice afternoon reading and wandering around town and bought myself a new top. It was one of those things, where I tried it on and it just worked so I went with it. Then I watched the All Blacks, Springboks game in the common room of my hall, which once we got the tv working was an awesome game; exciting and fast paced since the two teams were evenly matched. The final score was 35 to 17 with the All Blacks winning, this is part of the Tri-Nations cup for non New Zealanders, where Australia, New Zealand and South Africa play each other in mulitiple games to decide the winner. Then I went out to hang out with Sunny at Molly Malone's and The Establishment, both places were utterly packed with fans coming from the game at the Stadium and the various sports bars, a few Springboks fans, but so many All Blacks fans. Also in the afternoon, Wellington was getting excited about the game, the sports stores had music playing and were doing face painting and temporary tattoos and by 5 oclock, the bars were starting to fill up with folks grabbing a good seat and a beer. Just a fun atmosphere though the drawback was both places were so crowded that I ended up being pushed and prodded all night at Molly's and the Establishment and sadly the dance music was okay but not great. The night was fun though, but the highlight was while Sunny and I were waiting in line outside the Establishment, we saw Rodney So'oialu and another guy who I know is an All Black but I can't figure out his name or remember it. Basically a good night all around and because of it I slept nice and late today. Weekends are always good.
