Troy the Musical

Wellington is wet and I truly don't care. I just saw a play called Troy the Musical at Circa theatre, Greek literature is a nice, digestible treat with cross dressing, Zeus fooling around, Achilles in love, death, death and some more death and Calypso in a bloody big hat while Helen looks at herself in the mirror. I think the last time I had this much fun at a musical or play was when Rowan and I saw Wicked. I went to see this with some fellow Classicists and thier friends and it worked for everyone. At the end the classics people were comparing notes of where the myths came from and who's version and everyone else just had fun. I saw myths I didn't know and hurt my hands with clapping. At the moment, I'm on a huge adrenaline high and I recommend this play to anyone in Wellington, it's playing till the 22nd and its just bloody brillant.

Otherwise, life is good, this week has been full and crazy and good. I had fun at the games meeting and got a new supervisor for my paper and my old and new supervisors seem pretty happy with where I'm at. Which is always good, I got an A- on my slide test in Etruscan art, better than I thought I did. What other news, back in class and they're going well. Life is good and good live theater gives me such a buzz its nuts. And sadly the convenience store isn't selling liquor tonight, because they don't have someone working there with a license, which isn't good for me since I need a wee drop of something to bring me down off the buzz else I'll be up all night. Hopefully Phil or Anushka will get back and I can beg a drop off of them. This is a rather odd post, but oh well, life is good and see Troy the Musical if you're in Wellington. If you don't know the myths well don't worry, you don't have to, if you do then they're are some hidden jokes and I'm willing to happily see it again. The only drawback is you'll have a hyper and buzzed Kate afterwards.
