A couple of days ago, I applied to Borders, they have this way of applying online, which is cool and easy but I was worried since there wasn't a lot of space to explain that I'd spent the last year in New Zealand. So today, I walked over to buy the new Harry Potter and came out with a job interview at Borders for Sunday. I hope it works since I'd like to get back to earning money, I'm probably going to only work part time since my major goal is figuring out graduate school in New Zealand and reconnecting with people, so I want some time. Also all the people I know who've worked at Borders have liked it at least I haven't heard any major complaints. Thus I'm feeling really good and like things are feeling better. Rowan's busy working on his essays and my parents and enjoying Alaska and I'm reconnecting and taking of basic things like haircuts and such. Also I've now throughly digested the Return of the King extended dvd and boy what a treat. Only watching it made me homesick for New Zealand, oh well just another reason to go back. I think that's all of the news at the moment. Life is good and I'm crossing my fingers for Borders.
Also as a reward for basically surviving Arthur Barnett, I bought two computer games from yahoo games that have now made my life fun, Tradewinds 2, where you get to be a merchant/pirate in the Caribbean in 1700, really fun and just a treat, also one called jewel quest that's not as complext but still fun. So life is going well, my day is built around phone calls to Rowan but its nice finding more ways to keep busy and start earning money soon. I feel like I'm moving forward and heading towards my goal of Rowan and graduate school. And I'm just enjoying the beautiful sunny weather and walking and just reconnecting to this town I've known my own life, but now I'm seeing it differently. On Thursday I volunteered at the Public Library and I love being surrounded by books and people who want to read and share books. The library has always been one of my favorite places in the world, when I was little I read my way through Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys and Narnia and anything I could find. When I got older I moved onto historical fiction and mysteries and now I know how things work. If I can find a way to be allowed to read books, storytell through teaching and share my love of Homer, Shakespeare, Milton and the joy of telling a story, I will consider myself a happy person. I think the next step for that is getting my masters and doctorate so I can find a college or university where I can grow and be with Rowan and create a future with him as he finds his way too. Life is full of hope.
