At Loose Ends

I have things that I should be doing and want to be doing but none of them are quite happening. I've noticed that if I'm waiting on something then it makes it trickier to plan.

Today I waited on landlord maintenance that didn't happen and so it threw my day off. Tomorrow there will be job moving and I really want to finish at least one fic this week, along with sending job stuff out into the world.

So in the name of distraction and in the hope that maybe some quick fics will help me finish the current one that feels so close to done I can taste it, have a meme.

With my love by my side

The first time they fell asleep together was long before the first time they slept together. Both of their times had gotten horribly out of joint as she was raising a resistance as he struggled against the bureaucracy of the United States government.

When they met, neither could manage many words and as she curled up in his arms, she thought We need to sleep.

He didn't immediately answer as sleeping would mean moving for both of them to feel safe, Upstairs?

Her answer was a nod and leaning on each other they moved up the stairs so it was hard to tell who was leaning on whom.

The room was simple and welcoming, nothing to signal either world just a place to rest. Neither of them wanted to be far so they both toed off their shoes before laying on the bed.

As he closed his eyes, he thought at her, I'm going to close off or else I dream everyone's dreams.

She curled against him and kissed him gently on the lips as she said, "Open to me when you wake up."

"Always."
