Odd Week

This week has been odd for me since I've ended up doing things every other day. I didn't work yesterday and I did this morning. Its proof that even though I'm good at bouncing back, a bad assignment really knocks me for a loop. At least its now at the start of the semester so I can fix things.

The world outside is snowy and cold, but beautiful. When I was walking home from lunch yesterday, I saw I think a glorious hawk which I used my zoom to try and capture. It felt like a good omen.

Now I'm going to do that meme of listing my favorite characters from 15 fandoms and people can try and see patterns. Most of these will overlap with characters I roleplay and whichever fandoms are in my head at the moment.

Yes, I love taking characters that are just off to the side and finding out their stories.

Its a fun meme and because I was picking fandoms based on what was in my line of sight, some of them are obscure.

Tell me about Kit Cloudkicker. I love the name.

I grew up when Disney had Disney afternoon with Chip and Tale's Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin and Ducktales.

Kit's from TaleSpin which is a world where all travel is by plane, its vaguely steampunky and there are air pirates. Kit is the navigator/adopted son/sidekick of Baloo, a cargo pilot. The main arch is about Baloo dealing with Rebecca, a businesswoman who buys his plane to start a shipping business. So Baloo goes from being a freelance pilot who bums around, his character design is pretty much the bear from Robin Hood to in a small business.

Kit is just one of my favorites, because he's one of those young characters who's older than he seems. He's sort of a classic Disney orphan but the TaleSpin family isn't as nuclear as they normally end up. Rebecca has a little daughter Molly, there's Baloo, Wildcat the mechanic and Louie who owns a bar for pilots.

I recommend giving it a look over on YouTube since the look of the show is fun and its Disney being thoughtful. Not every episode is good but the two part pilot is something I bought the DVD set for.

From the ones I know (which isn't nearly enough because I fail at knowing fandoms), I see characters who endure quite a bit of abuse, even if it's just of a verbal nature. But I'm probably only recognizing that pattern because it tends to be my type at certain times. XD

Or maybe characters who are selfless?

No, its a pattern I see too. That's why Moist stands out so much, he's just so selfish.
