That was what the book club said, that she misunderstood what she saw but still, there's time enough to think about what she did. That's what I didn't buy, that a smart character like that somehow never even considered what her actions would cause.

It felt like it was insulting to the character, who was built up as more mature and smarter than others. That she never had a moment of maybe I can slow justice down now that I've set it off. Though I didn't like her that much, though I knew I was supposed to, I just never cared about her. She so clearly had her view of the world.

Its a really clumsy plot as its all about she messes it up, she fixes it but not really. Its all selfish in a way that I don't find sympathetic at all.
