I hated Atonement, too. The choice that started all the trouble was horrible. The end was even worse. It was gorgeously filmed and decently acted (I hate Keira Knightley but otherwise it was fine) but I just HATE the story. I always wonder if the book makes it better, but I've never wanted to find out.
